Indonesian citizens who successfully submitted their work are required to pay an admission fee of IDR 5,000,000, AUD 500, or USD 350 upon acceptance into the Book Launch Program.
International authors who are selected for the program must pay an admission fee of IDR 10,000,000, AUD 1,000, or USD 650 upon acceptance.
Proof of nationality is required at the time of submission.
KITAS holders are not eligible for the Indonesian citizen price.
Agents and author representatives are encouraged to submit only with the author’s consent. Evidence may be required.
Submissions must be sent by Friday, 2 May, 11:59 pm midnight (Bali time) for consideration. Submissions received after this date will not be considered.
The Festival organizer collaborates with bookshop partners to sell books at the Festival. If an author is accepted, official Festival bookshop partners will strive to source and stock the author's books. If they are unable to do so, it is the responsibility of the successful participant to supply their books to our bookshop partners for sale on consignment during the Festival.
If multiple authors wish to participate, it is essential to submit separate bios and high-res photos of each author through the online form. If more than two photos need to be submitted, it can be done through email to admin@yayasansaraswati.org indicating the book name and author in the subject line.
Authors who have successfully enrolled in the Book Launch Program agree to cover all costs related to visas, travel to and from Ubud and the event venue, as well as accommodation during their stay. The Festival is not responsible for any costs incurred in this regard.
The Festival will feature works from various genres, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, novels, satire, and more.
Book Launch program participants will be promoted as stated in the pre-festival marketing section. Additional promotional activity is at the discretion of the Festival and cannot be guaranteed. Participants are advised to promote their event via their own channels after the events have been announced.
Images and recordings of the book launch event may be used by the Festival organizations for promotional purposes.
Please note that to be eligible, books must be available for sale by 1 September 2025 to be considered for the 2025 Ubud Writers & Readers Festival.
Authors are encouraged to inform the festival organizer promptly in case of non-participation. Refunds are granted solely for significant reasons. The Festival organizer retains the ultimate discretion regarding refunds.
The Festival organizer is not liable for property damage, bodily injury, theft, or loss occurring before, during, or after the event resulting from the actions or negligence of third parties. The organizer also isn’t liable in the event of a force majeure that is outside the reasonable control of the festival organizers and prevents the cancellation of the event.
