Valley Stage

The nuances of one language can be difficult to translate into others, and expressions from one culture might convey different ideas once translated into another language. The fate of a book often lies in the translator's hands. In this panel, translator and author Deepa Bhasthi and author Andreea Răsuceanu discuss the trials of translation in fiction, exploring the relationship between author, text, and translator. After all, one doesn’t find ‘dolce far niente’ without putting in the work.
