Edwina Preston

Edwina Preston is a Melbourne-based writer and musician. She is the author of Not Just a Suburban Boy, a biography of Australian artist Howard Arkley, published by Duffy & Snellgrove in 2002. Her other works include The Inheritance of Ivorie Hammer, published by University of Queensland Press in 2012, and Bad Art Mother, released by Wakefield Press in 2022. Bad Art Mother was shortlisted for the 2023 Stella Prize and the NSW Premier's Literary Awards. Her writing and reviews have appeared in The Age, The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, Heat, Island, Griffith Review, and The Conversation. Preston also performs with her partner, musician Harry Howard, in Melbourne bands ATOM, Harry Howard and the NDE, and Duet.
