Fajar Merah

Fajar Merah is an Indonesian solo musician and singer-songwriter, known for a distinctive voice that defies conventional vocal styles. He began his solo career in 2015 with the release of the song Bunga dan Tembok. His lyrics are poetic yet grounded in realism, and his music consistently blends folk elements with modern touches. Three years after Bunga dan Tembok was released, in 2018, the song was chosen as the original soundtrack for the film Istirahatlah Kata-Kata. Fajar’s first solo album was released on 26 August 2021, coinciding with the birthday of Wiji Thukul. The album, titled Dia Ingin Jadi Peluru (Tribute to Wiji Thukul), was followed by his second album, Semi Sintetik, later in 2021. In September 2024, Fajar Merah embarked on a mini tour across Europe and released his third album, Biji Itu Tumbuh di Tanah Eropa.
