Tribute to The Father of Balinese Studies: Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Bagus

Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Ngurah Nitya Santhiarsa, MT, born in Denpasar on January 24, 1968, the third son of Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Bagus and Dra. Made Sulatri. In 1994, he started to become a teaching staff at the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University. Before that, he worked as a Manager of PT Multiguna Elpindo, Denpasar. As for his academic education, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a major in Engineering Design at Brawijaya University in 1992. His Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering was completed at ITS Surabaya in 2000 with a research area on Vibration. In 2014, he completed his doctoral degree at Brawijaya University, Malang, in the field of Advanced Materials research. Since June 1, 2023, he has been a Professor in the field of Advanced Materials Engineering Technology at the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Udayana University. He is currently working as a lecturer at the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, FT, Udayana University. His main research areas are design, manufacturing, vibration engineering, and composite materials, in addition to being the Head of the Balinese Traditional Technology Research Group LPPM Udayana University.

Prof Dr Ir I Gusti Ngurah Nitya Santhiarsa,MT, kelahiran Denpasar tanggal 24 Januari 1968, putra ketiga dari Prof Dr I Gusti Ngurah Bagus dan Dra Made Sulatri. Pada tahun 1994, mulai menjadi staf pengajar di PS Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Universitas Udayana. Sebelum itu, bekerja sebagai Manajer PT Multiguna Elpindo, Denpasar. Adapun perjalanan Pendidikan akademik, menyelesaikan pendidikan S1 Teknik Mesin dengan bidang utama Desain Rekayasa di Universitas Brawijaya pada tahun 1992. Pendidikan Magister Teknik Mesin S2 diselesaikan di ITS Surabaya pada tahun 2000 dengan area riset tentang Vibrasi. Pada tahun 2014 menyelesaikan pendidikan doktoral S3 di Universitas Brawijaya ,Malang, pada bidang riset Material Maju. Sejak tanggal 1 Juni 2023 sebagai Guru Besar pada bidang Teknologi Rekayasa Material Maju di PS Teknik Mesin Unud. Saat ini ia bekerja sebagai dosen di PS Teknik Mesin FT Uinversitas Udayana. Bidang penelitian utama yang digeluti adalah desain, manufaktur, rekayasa getaran, dan material komposit. disamping itu menjadi Ketua Grup Riset Teknologi Tradisional Bali LPPM Universitas Udayana. 

Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Darma Putra, M.Litt is a professor of Indonesian literature at the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Udayana University. He earned his bachelor's degree from Udayana University, his master's from the University of Sydney, and his doctorate from the University of Queensland (the latter two in Australia). He has conducted extensive research on Balinese literature and culture, collaborating with academics from Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, and Japan. Some of his research published as books include A Literary Mirror: Balinese Reflections on Modernity and Identity in the Twentieth Century (published by KITLV Leiden). Meanwhile, Heterogenitas Sastra di Bali received the Best Literary Criticism Book Award in 2021 from the Language Development and Fostering Agency, Ministry of Education and Culture. He currently serves as the editor-in-chief of Jurnal Kajian Bali, which has been accredited.

Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Darma Putra, M.Litt adalah guru besar sastra Indonesia Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Udayana. Ia mendapatkan gelar sarjananya dari Universitas Udayana, gelar Masternya dari University of Sydney, dan gelar Doktoralnya dari University of Queensland (dua yang terakhir disebut berada di Australia). Ia telah banyak melakukan penelitian mengenai sastra dan kebudayaan Bali, bekerja sama dengan para akademisi dari Australia, Inggris, Belanda, Jerman, dan Jepang. Beberapa penelitiannya yang telah diterbitkan sebagai buku adalah: A Literary Mirror: Balinese Reflections on Modernity and Identity in the Twentieth Century (terbitan KITLV Leiden). Sementara Heterogenitas Sastra di Bali mendapatkan anugerah buku kritik sastra terbaik 2021 dari Badan Bahasa Kemendikbudristek. Kini ia juga menjabat sebagai pemimpin redaksi Jurnal Kajian Bali yang telah terakreditasi.

Ida Ayu Oka Rusmini, known as Oka Rusmini, is an Indonesian poet and novelist. Oka has authored collections of short stories, poems, and novels, including Sagra in 2001 and Tarian Bumi (Dance of the Earth) in 2000. Her works have been internationally recognized, with translations into German and ongoing efforts for an English translation by the Lontar Foundation. She has received various awards, including the Literary Award from Badan Bahasa in 2003 and 2012, the Tantular Literary Award from Balai Bahasa Provinsi Bali in 2012, and The S.E.A. Write Award from the Thai government in 2012. More recent awards include the Bali Jani Nugraha from the Bali Provincial Government in 2019 and the Wikan Award in 2023.

Ida Ayu Oka Rusmini, dikenal sebagai Oka Rusmini, adalah seorang penyair dan novelis Indonesia. Oka telah menulis sejumlah kumpulan cerpen, puisi, dan novel, termasuk Sagra pada tahun 2001 dan Tarian Bumi pada tahun 2000. Karya-karyanya telah diakui secara internasional, dengan terjemahan ke dalam bahasa Jerman dan upaya untuk melakukan terjemahan bahasa Inggris oleh Yayasan Lontar. Ia telah menerima berbagai penghargaan, termasuk Penghargaan Sastra dari Badan Bahasa pada tahun 2003 dan 2012, Anugerah Sastra Tantular dari Balai Bahasa Provinsi Bali pada tahun 2012, dan The S.E.A. Write Award dari Pemerintah Thailand pada tahun 2012. Pengakuan lain yang baru-baru ini ia terima mencakup Penghargaan Bali Jani Nugraha dari Pemerintah Provinsi Bali pada tahun 2019 dan Wikan Award pada tahun 2023.
