Ali AlShaali

Ali AlShaali is an Emirati poet, novelist, and publisher who is the author of five poetry collections and several works of fiction and narrative prose. His recent publications include the novel My Name is Alya and the short story collection This is My Father and Lives in Pomegranate. AlShaali's work has earned numerous accolades, including the Al Owais Creativity Award, and he was named Poet of the Year at the Sharjah Festival of Arabic Poetry in 2024. His poetry collection The Earth Has But One Soul has been translated into Spanish, Turkish, and Greek. A graduate of the International Writing Programme at the University of Iowa and the Frankfurt Book Fair Fellowship, he holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and a Master's Certificate in Project Management.
