Jin Young Lim is a PhD candidate in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultural Studies at UC Santa Barbara. His debut book, The Dao of Flow, integrates classical texts with his experiences in Taijiquan, Daoism, Zen, tea culture, agriculture, conservation, art, history, geography, politics, and social economics. Previously, he was a Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University and served as Program Coordinator at the Berggruen Institute’s China Center. He is also a Co-Founder of the Spawo Foundation, a non-profit focused on holistic education, sustainability, health and wellness, and cultural preservation in the Himalayas. Throughout his life, he has led numerous mindfulness-based expeditions to the Himalayas and engaged in various contemplative practices.
