Ni Nyoman Ayu Suciartini is a Balinese writer and lecturer who has a deep love for all forms of writing. Her book Mimpi Itu Gratis, published by Gramedia in 2016, tells the story of the beauty of eastern Bali and its unending poverty. Her writing also appears in Jejak Ingatan, a collaborative work by ten writers from across Indonesia, published by Gramedia in 2016. She is also the author of Bersinar di Timur Pulau Bali, a 2018 biography published by Balai Bahasa Bali. Her children’s books include Pantai yang Kurindukan, Perjalanan Si Cerry, and the trilingual superhero story Luh Ayu Manik Mas. In 2014, she received the Telkomsel Award in the 'Most Indonesian Writer' category and the Kompas Young Writer Award in 2011. In 2021, her manuscript Racun Puan was nominated for the Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ) script competition and was published by Bentang Pustaka. Her novel Biang won the Unsapress novel competition and was also nominated for the 2022 Ministry of Education and Culture Literary Award in the Best Novel category. In 2024, she won a speech competition for voicing the struggles of women under the proposed Maternal and Child Welfare Bill (UU KIA) at the Indonesian House of Representatives. Her work has been staged as a monologue and awarded at literary festivals and journalism competitions.
