Anton Hur

Anton Hur is a South Korean translator and a winner of the PEN/Heim Award for his translation of The Underground Village by Kang Kyeong-ae and Cursed Bunny by Bora Chung, the latter of which was shortlisted for the 2022 International Booker Prize. Hur has also translated Kyung-Sook Shin’s The Court Dancer and I Went to See My Father, Djuna’s Counterweight, and Baek Sehee’s I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki. As a writer, Hur is represented by Jon Wood at Rogers Coleridge & White in London and has been published in Words Without Borders, Asymptote Journal, Litro Magazine, among other publications. Born in Stockholm, Hur currently resides in Seoul, where he studied law and psychology at Korea University. He specialized in Victorian poetry at the Seoul National University Graduate School English program under Dr. Nancy Jiwon Cho. Hur has also taught at the British Centre for Literary Translation, the Ewha University Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation, and the Bread Loaf Translators Conference.

Anton Hur adalah seorang penerjemah asal Korea Selatan dan pemenang Penghargaan PEN/Heim untuk terjemahannya dari buku The Underground Village karya Kang Kyeong-ae dan Cursed Bunny karya Bora Chung, yang terpilih sebagai salah satu nominasi pendek untuk International Booker Prize 2022. Karya-karya lain yang pernah ia terjemahkan di antaranya The Court Dancer dan I Went to See My Father karya Kyung-Sook Shin, Counterweight karya Djuna, dan I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki karya Baek Sehee.
