Pamela Allen is an Australian Adjunct Professor of Indonesian Language and Literature at the University of Tasmania. She has translated and published a wide range of literary genres from Indonesian to English, including short stories, novels, and poetry. She is the English translator of Ayu Utami’s award-winning novel Saman. Pamela regularly interprets and translates for the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival in Bali and has served as a translator and editor for the Lontar Foundation in Jakarta for many years. In 2018, she won First Prize in the Literary Prose Translation Competition organized by Australian Association for Literary Translation (AALITRA).
Pamela Allen adalah Adjunct Professor Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia di Universitas Tasmania. Ia telah menerjemahkan dan menerbitkan berbagai genre sastra dari bahasa Indonesia ke bahasa Inggris, termasuk cerpen, novel, dan puisi. Ia adalah penerjemah bahasa Inggris untuk novel pemenang penghargaan karya Ayu Utami, Saman. Pamela jua rutin menjadi interpreter dan penerjemah bagi Ubud Writers & Readers Festival di Bali dan pernah menjabat sebagai penerjemah serta editor untuk Yayasan Lontar di Jakarta selama bertahun-tahun. Pada tahun 2018, ia memenangkan Hadiah Utama dalam Literary Prose Translation Competition yang diselenggarakan oleh Australian Association for Literary Translation (AALITRA).
