Tito Ambyo is an Australian writer, journalist, lecturer, and PhD candidate at the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University. He combines anthropological and journalistic methods to explore storytelling, spirituality, and the intersection of technology and human experience in the digital realm. His doctoral research, titled Digital Haunting in Indonesia, investigates how Indonesian horror vloggers use ghost stories to examine the impact of digital technologies on spiritual expression online. Before transitioning to academic and research roles, Tito worked as a journalist with the ABC and has experience as a filmmaker, poet, and playwright. He has received several awards and grants, including a City of Moreland grant for Re(lu)minescence, a collaborative project focused on light, memories, and social change, as well as the Ossie Award for ‘Best Innovation in Journalism’ in 2017.
